Let alone laws passed or regulations enacted or rights slowly taken away when it comes to womens choices in the area of birth.

Why is it so impossible to think women can make their own decisions..right or wrong..for their babies.  I talk to women who have had doctors say the more horriblest things to them about homebirth. Or if they are having a hospital, they hear such horror stores when they ask about natural birth that sometimes its a wonder the human species has even sruvived this long.

But why is it even a point of conversation with a doctor? Is he in control of everyones choices? Is it his right to make the bad choices for people?   Why does everyone assume he even KNOWS the right choice for someone? Cause it came out of his mouth thus its gospel?  When did society allow one group to decide the rights of other health groups to exist or practice? Why do we allow the AMA to make ANY comment on midwives, chiropracters, accupuncturist, herbalist, massage therapist, aromatherapist, and the list goes on.

When do WE say NOMORE.  When do WE say we will no longer accept the AMA putting their 2 cents into subjects they are completely clueless about. They are only threatened because it threatens their "god" image of knowing ALL... its not about actual safe care. Its about $$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

I know there is a specail place in hell for the drs who tell women:

"your pelvis is too small for this huge 7 lb baby to come through"

or

"Its dangerous to go over 38 weeks cause your placenta could just get old any minute and your baby die"

or

"C sections are so safe and much better for you anyway"

or

"fill in the blank"

 

The time is now to say...

 

We are in charge. We no longer will hear your negative words. And we will birth with honor and integrity and value and safety.

 

When this happens... we will see a revolution.
